Komar’s Togo expansion brings 4,000 new
jobs to the region

On June 18, in partnership with our manufacturing arm,
Star, we officially opened our newest manufacturing site
in Togo, West Africa—creating 2,000 direct jobs and
4,000 total new job opportunities, with 70% of those
jobs intended for women.

Our Togo site, set to produce and export millions of
garments each year, reflects Komar’s commitment to
sustainable, diversified and people-centric global
growth. Strategically located in Africa’s cotton belt,
operations will include collaboration with local mills to
develop a more integrated, resilient supply chain—from
locally sourced cotton to finished garments.

Togolese President Faure Gnassingbé presided over the opening, marking a transformative milestone for Komar, for Star and the textile industry in
West Africa.

“This is more than just a factory. It represents a long-term commitment—Komar’s commitment to the people of
Togo—for jobs, training and elevating global production
standards based on dignity and excellence. The choice of
Togo is no coincidence. We chose this country because
we see a rising nation, a government focused on
economic stability, infrastructure development, and
investment appeal,” said Charlie Komar,
CEO of Charles Komar & Sons

The state-of-the-art, LEED-certified facility, located in
the Plateforme Industrielle d’Adétikopé industrial park
near Lomé, Togo, will be the country’s first large-scale,
export-focused apparel manufacturing center. With
comprehensive training programs, employees will gain
world-class manufacturing skills—an initiative aligning
with Togo’s national goal to build sustainable, ethical
career pathways for local talent.
